Kings of Cole was recently in Prague and one of the best sights we saw was the John Lennon Wall! Filled with John Lennon-inspired graffiti and lyrics from Beatles songs, the John Lennon Wall symbolizes love and peace. The wall began during Lennonism in the late 1980′s. It was an amazing sight to see! Prague was one of the most breathtaking cities we’ve ever been to. We even heard that Jay Z and Kayne West were filming a music video while we were there! We can’t wait to go back!

We are extremely passionate about the anti-bullying movement here at Kings of Cole and were horrified when we read the statistics that over 13 million students will experience bullying this year, making it the most common form of violence for children nationwide. A new documentary, “Bully” just came out in theaters that follows the lives of five students from different states in America that have suffered tremendously from the effects of bullying in their schools. Two of these five students are represented by their parents because they were driven to suicide from the excessive bullying they were experiencing.
This film depicts how badly these children are tormented by their classmates and how teachers and administrators are responding to bullying by saying “kids will be kids” and brushing off this serious issue. Children and their parents are trying to change how bullying is handled in the schools and in society as a whole.
The owner and designer of Kings of Cole, Elana Brynes is a true anti-bullying advocate and as you all know, has designed an anti-bullying BYE-HATER hoodie to promote the cause. In an interview with Seventeen, Elana said, “I am so glad that the word is starting to get out, that bullying of any kind is never ok, and can cause irreparable damage to a persons’ self-esteem. I came up with the BYE HATER Anti-Bully hoodie, to get a conversation going, and to let anyone who has ever been bullied know that they are not alone. Bullying comes from a place of weakness, and the message “BYE HATER” is an empowering message, that once you take the power back, a bully has nothing on you.” A portion of proceeds benefited from the Kings of Cole anti-bullying BYE-HATER hoodie are donated to an anti-bullying charity.
